RAL designs office, residential, hospitality, and resort properties in the United States and abroad. Because the company began as an architecture firm, its in-house architects and the design teams it hires work toward timeless, original buildings that respond to their surroundings.

1979
Robert A. Levine founds RAL in New York as a planning and architecture firm. Design stays at the center of the company: RAL still plans its buildings from the floor plan out.
Early decades
RAL converts landmark and industrial buildings into homes and offices, including the Arthur Levitt State Office Building at 270 Broadway, Franklin Tower in Tribeca, and a 1918 ink-press warehouse that became Loft 25.
Resort markets
In Colorado, RAL develops Hotel Madeline at the invitation of the Town of Mountain Village, manages construction of Four Seasons Vail, and builds Spring Creek, a planned community of 1,655 residences.
2019
After converting One Brooklyn Bridge Park, RAL wins Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation's competitive process for Pier 6 and delivers Quay Tower and The Landing, including 100 affordable homes.
2023
Zero Irving, conceived in response to an NYCEDC request for proposals, completes in the heart of Union Square, combining Class A office with tech education and innovation space.
Today
Current work includes The Mandarin Oriental Resort & Residences in Grand Cayman, Four Seasons Resort and Residences in Telluride, ROAN in Steamboat Springs, and CASA FIU in South Florida.
RAL applies a varied group of professionals to each project and combines their abilities into a team that is greater than the sum of its parts.
