Innovation Through Public-Private Partnerships
Envisioned by RAL in response to a competitive RFP issued by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), the New York City “Tech Hub” at 124 East 14th Street was approved through a rigorous public review process and is currently under construction. The Tech Hub finances and houses essential technology business and workforce development spaces required by NYCEDC, leveraging the revenue from market rate class A office space on the upper floors. The 270,000 square foot, 21-floor property will deliver 8 floors of amenitized class A, market-rate office space; 5 floors of flexible office space (market-rate with shorter terms, designed for startups); 3 floors of digital skills training center; 2 floors of tech networking and innovation space by Civil Hall; and a full-floor event space for 300 guests. The ground floor will house a unique food hall with space reserved for new food businesses. The Tech Hub is designed by David Brody Bond Architects.
