Robert A. Levine

Robert A. Levine is the founder, CEO and president of RAL. Since the beginning in 1982, Mr. Levine has grown the firm to include five affiliate companies and a skilled staff. RAL coordinates and oversees every facet of the development of luxury residential, resort and commercial properties nationwide, from financing and design to construction and property management.

A renowned developer and graduate Planner/Architect, Mr. Levine has been responsible for the development of more than 100 luxury residential, hotel and mixed-use projects throughout the country totaling in the hundreds of millions of dollars in project valuations.

Mr. Levine attended the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture and Art, and is currently a board member of Brooklyn Greenway Initiative and Governors Island Alliance and Partnership for New York City.

Ian Scott Levine

Since joining RAL in 1999, Mr. Levine's responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of all the firm's divisions, from corporate asset management, to all aspects of company owned properties and developments. He is also President of The Spandrel Group, LLC, an RAL affiliate that provides consulting, property management, staffing, and marketing and brokerage services.

Prior to joining RAL, Mr. Levine worked for Jeepers, Inc., a national owner and operator of indoor animated theme parks, as a Leasing and Real Estate Representative generating demographic modeling and strategic fit reports for possible new site acquisitions, executing new site research and inspections, initiating deals and acquiring special use permits and zoning variances.

Mr. Levine is a graduate of Babson College and holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurial Studies and Real Estate. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), New York Association of Realty Managers (NYARM), and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Mr. Levine is also a licensed real estate broker in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.

Vincent Cangelosi

Mr. Cangelosi is a Registered Architect who has helped shape RAL's aesthetic identity since 1990. His expertise in innovative design and understanding of large-scale construction has resulted in universally successful developments in the highly competitive New York market and throughout the country. Through his long affiliation with RAL, Mr. Cangelosi has directed both the design and marketing efforts of a broad range of projects including large multi-family communities, resort properties, and private residences as well as regional retail centers. He is also the principal of Cangelosi Design Associates, PLLC, an architectural firm.

Mr. Cangelosi received his formal training at the City College of New York School of Architecture and Environmental Studies where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in architecture and graduated summa cum laude. His education also includes studies in urban planning and preservation in association with the Polytechnic Institute of Milan, Italy.

Stuart Taft

Since joining RAL in 2001, Mr. Taft has been responsible for the acquisition of properties and development rights totaling over two million square feet, and for financing transactions totaling more than $1.4 billion dollars. His responsibilities include the review and analysis of potential development opportunities, site acquisition analysis, financial modeling, deal structuring, transaction finance and the negotiation of operating agreements and joint ventures.

Mr. Taft has over 25 years of real estate experience including positions as Director of Real Estate Development for the NASDAQ listed web-hosting company Globix Corporation, VP of Real Estate Portfolio Management for The Chase Manhattan Bank, Retail Property Manager for The Rouse Organization at South Street Seaport and Real Estate Associate in the Investment and Merchant Banking Group of The Tribeca Corporation.

He holds a master's degree in real estate investment and development from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in communication from the State University of New York at Albany. Mr. Taft is also a licensed real estate broker in New York.

Spencer Levine

As a project manager at RAL, Mr. Levine has been responsible for the architectural design and construction management of more than 2 million square feet of mixed-use space as well as more than 30 acres of commercial landscape design, in the form of rooftops and common areas. He also serves as Director of Landscape Architecture at CDA and Vice President at Site Development Associates, a site planning and urban landscape design and installation firm.

Mr. Levine holds a Master's Degree in landscape architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor's Degree in landscape architecture with a concentration in construction documentation and management from Cornell University.

Ken Gelman

Mr. Gelman brings a long and varied background to RAL. Most recently he was Vice President of Equipment, Controls and Maintenance for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company. In this position, he was responsible for establishing budgets and purchasing all the equipment to operate and maintain over 600 supermarkets.

Previously, Mr. Gelman was Director of Accounting Administration for Waldbaum Supermarkets on Long Island. In 1986 when the company was sold, he was retained to oversee the conversion of all information and accounting records for the new company. He was then appointed Director of Facilities. In 1992 he left to join Victory Markets of New York.

Mr. Gelman attended Fairleigh Dickinson University from 1964 to 1967 and served in the New Jersey National Guard from 1966 to 1972.

Alan Reich

Mr. Reich brings over 35 years of domestic and international experience in project management and construction oversight to RAL, where he oversees the firm's most high profile developments. He is particularly experienced in overseeing the construction of luxury hotels, residential condominiums, and commercial/mixed use buildings, as well as public projects requiring extensive collaboration with city and state agencies. During his RAL tenure, Mr. Reich has overseen the construction of over 2 million square feet of commercial, residential and hotel developments, including One Brooklyn Bridge Park, Vail Four Seasons Resort and Capella Telluride.

Mr. Reich received his undergraduate degree from Queens College of The City University of New York and attended numerous construction and construction management continuing education courses in New York and Israel.

Joshua Wein

As the Financial Director at RAL, Mr. Wein is responsible for site review and valuation, property acquisitions, monitoring and managing project expenses, overseeing the requisition process for ongoing developments, and interfacing with partners and financial institutions on new and existing properties. He is also involved in the planning of RAL's web-based marketing efforts and is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.

Prior to joining RAL, Mr. Wein founded two companies, Spiral Software Systems and Devani Gem Corporation, both of which he eventually sold. Mr. Wein is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he majored in Information Technology & Management and minored in Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises.

Jerry Gallo

Mr. Gallo is Director of Architectural Services at CDA, an architectural affiliate of RAL. He oversees architectural production, manages staff, and assists in the design and development of new projects.

Since joining in 1999 as a junior architect, Mr. Gallo has taken on increasingly complex assignments, including the one million square foot residential conversion, One Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Mr. Gallo brings experience from small architectural firms specializing in luxury residential renovations and new construction in both Long Island and New York City. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the New York Institute of Technology.

Michael M. Rossi

Mr. Rossi is a results-oriented leader with over 16 years of construction, engineering, managerial and administrative experience in dynamic environments. He has worked on all aspects of the project development life cycle including the regulatory process, design, construction, and coordinating with operators, tenants, financial institutions, and municipal agencies. Mr. Rossi has a wide range of building and site work experience on residential, hospitality, retail, commercial, and general construction projects.

In addition to his experience in the residential, hospitality, retail and commercial arenas, Mr. Rossi served on active duty as an Officer in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri at Rolla, and an M.S. in Construction Management from Stevens Institute of Technology. Mr. Rossi is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the states of NY and MO, LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C), and a member of numerous professional organizations to include ASCE, NSPE, and SAME.

David B. Sorenson

With over fifteen years of experience, Mr. Sorenson is responsible for the architecture, interior design, and construction in the field at CDA, RAL's architectural affiliate. He works directly with the contractor, design team, and operator to meet and exceed client goals on time and on budget.

Mr. Sorenson worked previously with Ivins Design Group, where he served as project architect and project manager for over $105 million in hotel and condominium assets. A registered architect in New York, Colorado and Idaho, he received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University.

Jeffrey Lampiasi

Mr. Lampiasi, of Lampiasi & Associates LLP, serves as General Counsel for RAL, where he applies his 20-plus year career practicing real estate law—most recently as Senior Counsel in the real estate department at the prestigious law firm Proskauer Rose LLP—to all of RAL's current luxury developments. He is particularly skilled at finding creative solutions to complex and challenging real estate and legal issues.

Mr. Lampiasi has represented numerous high-profile ownerships such as Vornado Realty Trust and The Mendik Company. He has also run his own private practice and held positions at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver, & Jacobson and Golenbock & Barell. He received a B.A. in economics through an accelerated three-year program at Wesleyan University and is a graduate of New York University's School of Law.

James C. Thalman

Mr. Thalman's hospitality management and consulting career has spanned over four decades since earning his hotel degree from Michigan State University's School of Hospitality Business. Assignments have included general management, asset management and consulting in urban, suburban/airport, commercial/convention and resort locations, including both upscale and luxury quality levels.

Recent projects include luxury hotel and boutique hotel destination resorts in Colorado, a luxury destination spa hotel in Miami Beach and an upscale suburban/airport hotel project in New Jersey. All recent properties had substantial residential & commercial condominium components in addition to lodging operations.

Analysis provided in Mr. Thalman's consulting assignments includes review of sales and marketing plans for operations, operating budgets, financial statement performance and analysis, organization and personnel reviews, competitive set analysis and asset inspection with CapEx plan reviews/recommendations.
